I've decided to keep this blog as a personal insight of my adventures through the cooking world. Starting from the beginning... the very beginning. Growing up, I have not gotten to experience cooking on my own since at home we either eat already prepared meals or from my mothers cooking. The past four years I have been at university, living in the on campus dorms, without a proper kitchen. That being said, I experienced new foods by going out with my friends and I cooked a bit, but I did not have to cook my meals each week. With graduation, and "real life" upon me, I am ready to enter the kitchen, wash my hands, and get cookin'.
My inspiration for this blog has been from Carissa my future room-mate (I don't move in until mid-July) who has a successful cooking blog of her own. Her recipes always look delicious & healthy yet hearty. I will be cooking various recipes with hints of Greek, Italian, Mexican, Indian, etc influences. I love to bake, and I hope I can get my cookies as moist as my great-grandmother's cookies and my meringue as mile-high as my mother's. I will probably borrow some of my mother's cookbooks, watch the cooking network, and find new cooking blogs. I have been successful thus far in finding recipes/cooking blogs (as well as other fun inspiration) from Pintrest. Another blog that I have found is: http://potinguesyfogones.blogspot.com.es/2012/05/tartaleta-cremosa-de-frutas.html (it is in Spanish, but can be easily translated in Google Translate).
I hope that while keeping this blog, I can document my new and exciting life living in Fort Worth, TX, new food experiences, and personal growth. I always love to entertain, so if I throw a fun party/tea/brunch I will be sure to document that as well.
